A Letter from Leadership

On behalf of Catalent Greenville, I would like to officially welcome you to our facility in Greenville, North Carolina. Catalent is a science-led, full-service contract development and manufacturing organization specializing in novel oral solid dosage forms and providing pharmaceutical development, analytical testing, and commercial manufacturing services. This campus is one of few in the world where a client can take a product from first-in-human trials to global commercial supply under a single site registration, mitigating the risk, cost, and time of drug product tech transfers.

We are committed to the safety of our employees and visitors, overall compliance, reliably supplying the patients that count on us, and excellent customer service for our clients. We are happy to have you as a visitor to our site and it is our main priority and objective to make sure your visit with us is as successful as possible.

Key Greenville Site Information

Welcome to Greenville, NC! Greenville is home to Catalent’s Greenville facility, an oral solid dose manufacturing operation part of the Oral Drug Delivery (ODD) business unit. On site, we have a state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing plant specializing in novel oral solid dosage forms and providing pharmaceutical development, analytical testing, and commercial manufacturing services. Catalent Greenville offers a complete “concept to commercialization” solution under one FDA site registration.

SECURITY

  • Please park in visitor-designated parking areas. Visitor parking is located right in front of our main building and lobby near the three flagpoles.
  • Please observe speed limits and stop signs while driving on the premises and yield to pedestrians.
  • All vehicles and articles are subject to inspection.
  • When you check in at our main lobby, you’ll be given a guest badge to wear during your visit.
  • Your Business Development Executive or Project Manager will greet you upon arrival and escort you to the designated conference room or office space.
  • Visitors should be accompanied by an employee at all times within the facility.
  • Taking photographs or videos is not allowed on site. If needed, your escort can take photos for you.
  • Weapons, including privately owned firearms, are strictly prohibited on plant property.
  • All persons visiting the site must be pre-registered by the host or register at the front desk or security desk by providing a formal government issued ID. Visitors are issued and must wear a name tag or contractor badge at all times while on site. All visitors are required to check out at the front desk before leaving the site.

SAFETY & EMERGENCY

  • You will be provided with personal protective gowning requirements relevant to the areas visited during your stay. Safety glasses, hair and beard nets, gowns and shoe coverings must be worn when touring or visiting any manufacturing areas on our site. Jewelry will need to be removed prior to entering GMP Production areas.
  • Visitors are required to wear closed-toed shoes when touring or visiting any manufacturing areas on our site.
  • During manufacturing of batches, personnel may be required to utilize personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection such as Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR), facepiece respirators, etc.
  • Visitors are encouraged to conduct observations from outside of processing areas when hazards exist that require the use of respiratory protection equipment. Many of our manufacturing suites allow observation of processing from windows or via video surveillance.
  • Visitors that require access to laboratories, packaging, manufacturing, pharmaceutical development (PDL), or any other area that requires the use of respiratory protection equipment must provide the following documentation for review by EHS prior to entry: a. Medical clearance documentation indicating the visitor/client is medically able to wear a respirator and the types of respirators medically approved to wear. (The medical documentation should exclude confidential patient health information).
  • Documentation indicating respiratory protection training and fit testing (if applicable) must have been completed within the last 12 months.
  • If a visitor provides the required documentation listed above and utilizes a respirator provided by Catalent, awareness training will be provided to review the use, functionality, fit, capabilities and limitations of the respirator.
  • All documentation including awareness training related to respiratory protection will be maintained by the Facility’s EHS department.
  • If a visitor does not provide the required documentation listed above, they will not be allowed entry into processing areas requiring respiratory protection and observations will be conducted outside of the processing area.
  • When the circumstances require client presence in processing rooms, procedural controls define the requirements.
  • In the event of a fire emergency, a long continuous alarm will sound. Your Catalent host or a member of the fire marshal team will escort you to the nearest exit door.
  • Accident or Injury – If you have an accident or feel ill, inform your host who will arrange for first aid.

GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES (GMP)

  • The Pharmaceutical facility adheres to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) under the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).

SIGNS & WARNINGS

  • Please be aware of displayed warning/personal protection signs and adhere to instruction issued by Catalent staff.
  • Do not enter restricted areas or touch any product, materials, machinery controls or equipment, unless authorized to do so by a Catalent employee.

IT

  • Catalent offers wireless internet access for our guest. Your host will pre-register you and make arrangements for internet access during your visit.
  • Catalent provides guest printing services. For assistance, please contact your host.
