Catalent Celebrates 20 Years at Bolton Facility
Somerset, N.J. – November 23, 2016 — Catalent Pharma Solutions, the leading pharmaceutical development company, recently celebrated 20 years of operations at its 47,000 square foot facility, located at Wingates Industrial Park, Westhoughton, U.K..
Alan Robinson, General Manager of the site, commented, “We are delighted that so many of our staff and their families were able to join us to celebrate 20 years at the Westhoughton facility near Bolton. The site plays a key role in Catalent’s global network and we are proud of the work we do in helping important medicines reach patients.” He continued, “The company’s commitment to the site is reflected in the significant investment and expansion that has taken place over the years, including the enhancement of additional cold storage facilities just last year so we are able to handle even more temperature-sensitive medicines.”
The Westhoughton site was completed in the summer of 1996 and the company, then known as Unipack and Unival, relocated its 70 staff from premises in nearby Walkden. In February the following year, the facility was officially opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. Previously owned by Cardinal Health, the company was purchased by Blackstone in 2007 and became Catalent.
