Catalent Executives to Present at Upcoming Asian ISPE Conferences
Somerset, N.J., – April 11, 2016 — Catalent Pharma Solutions, the leading global provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics, consumer health products and global clinical supply services, today announced that Mr. Yufeng (Paul) Cao, General Manager, Clinical Trial Supply, China, and Ms. Esther Sadler-Williams, Global Director, Strategic Development and Innovation, have been invited to speak at upcoming ISPE events in China and Japan.
Mr. Cao’s presentation, at the ISPE China Annual Spring Conference, on Monday April 11th at 1.30 p.m., is entitled “Best Practice and Considerations for Running Successful Clinical Trials in and from Asia,” and will discuss current trends and challenges facing companies running clinical trials in this market, and strategies to overcome these. A case study demonstrating successful planning through combining clinical supply management and a patient- and site-centric supply network will be presented, while Mr. Cao will also discuss approaches for Asian innovators looking to manage clinical trials in the US and Europe.
At the ISPE Japan Affiliate General Assembly, on Friday, April 15th at 11.00 a.m., Ms. Sadler-Williams will present “Patient Perceptions of Investigational Medicinal Products”. She will speak as a representative of the Investigational Products Community of Practice Steering Committee, and discuss the findings from the cross-industry group’s patient survey, undertaken with a range of subjects associated with Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) trials. The presentation will outline key findings including overall patient experience, patient perceptions around labelling and kit design, transport and storage of medicines, as well as behavior associated with returning unused medicines.
Prior to joining Catalent, Mr. Cao was most recently the General Manager for Fisher Clinical Service (Beijing, China). An industry veteran, who is experienced with GMP and FDA certification in China, he has an extensive background in secondary packaging and cold chain distribution. Prior to Fisher he worked for Zuellig Pharma and has extensive experience in drug distribution. Mr. Cao has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Electrical Automation from Beijing University of Science and Technology and also holds an MBA from Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School, K. U. Leuven, Belgium. Additionally, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence from K. U. Leuven, Belgium.
Ms. Sadler-Williams M.Sc., MRPharmS, is the past EU chair of the ISPE Investigational Products Community of Practice committee. As a pharmacist, she has had nearly 30 years’ experience in various pharmaceutical fields, latterly in clinical supply environments, but she also worked for five years with Sanofi Winthrop, where she was Head of Research Services, managing groups of clinical research associates, medical writers and information/adverse event surveillance specialists. Her previous roles include Principal Pharmacist with the Regional Drug Information Service at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, UK, and Pharmacy Manager with Boots the Chemist.
